Snow on The Beach!

One of our wonderful guests sent me these pictures of the beach house in November when it snowed on the Ocean. Burr! I’m actually relieved she didn’t request a refund!

Salmon On The Beach?

One of our wonderful guests sent back a comment card to me (most do). Anyway…she said her hubby caught a salmon right off the beach with his second cast! I suppose if the crabbing is slow this would be the next best thing! Bring your rod!

Wow! Our recent guest made this beautiful

flower in the sand.

How Cute is This?

Our wonderful housekeeper learned how to make this adorable towel animal. Will you be one of the lucky ones to find this cute surprise waiting for you at the beach house? Might seem like a tragedy to open it up and use it as an actual towel!

Something New and Whales!

Just added all new bedding to the beach house—looks amazingly nice and comfy! Hoping our guests enjoy it!

Went to dinner tonight at the local Bayshore Motel and the bartender, who is a photographer as well, showed us a picture he took right in front of our house of a whale breeching just off shore; it was awesome! If you stay at our beach house and are fortunate to get a picture of a whale, PLEASE e-mail it to me to post here on the Blog.

The 4th at Alsea Pacific

4th of July is awesome at the beach house. The town of Waldport places collection cans for fireworks each year long before the 4th. They clearly reached the financial goal to perform and incredible display on July 3rd (don’t ask). We had a bond fire on the beach and sat back at about 10pm to enjoy a fabulous fireworks show just 100 yards from us—it was amazing! The seals that regularly rest at the end of the spit were thrown for a loop when the fire department showed up at their “sleeping spot” to set up the works. But the show was a huge success and I think the seals will find their way back in a day or so. Good job people of Waldport!

Out With the Old, In With the New

Finally, the work towards a new driveway has begun!

It was odd to see the old driveway gone so fast. I can't wait for the new one! Should be ready to go by Thursday.

Decor Galore

I love a trip to the beach house! Between visits, I always keep an eye out for some tidbit goodie I think would work or look good at the house. This trip I brought up a new guest book I hope all guests will leave their mark in. I also found a really neat tide gauge. It's made from a CD and is just cute (and functional) as can be!

The kitchen finally got a new and more functional cutting board as well as some new glassware. I've also added some new wall decor to the house.

I'm hoping to replace much of the bedding soon too. It's only 6 months old, but since we wash it so often, it's all showing wear and tear already.

As always, I hope everyone enjoys their stay at Alsea Pacific Beach House and most of all, the weather cooperates during your visit (because it sure didn't for us this trip LOL!!)!

New Stuff (Including Forts)!

Craig and I have been staying at the beach house for several days now and are happy to announce that somewhere between our beach walks, shell collecting, and golf games, we have managed to install new window blinds, glass slider blinds, the fire extinguisher, and….put the new gas BBQ together as well as adding a BEAUTIFUL new custom plaque on the front side of the house. Whew! It’s hard to work while you’re here!

Remember Fort Alsea Pacific? Well the competition must be on. There are several new “forts” being built along our beach right now. I think we have counted 5 so far. B.T.W., The Alsea fort our previous guests built is still standing (although not as tall).

The weather is a changing now—thank goodness! Five beautiful days for us! Unfortunately, our last guests didn’t have good weather. In fact, it was REALLY bad—sorry guys! We are hoping summer is here soon.

What's The Fun With Storm Watching? I Want Treasures!

Posted by anonymous on March 12, 2010 at 11:09 AM Comments comments (0)

So we’re all excited to finally have "our" time at the beach house; three fabulous days of “beach fun!” Okay, so the forecast says rain, that’s fine, it’s still winter. Opps, wind too? That’s alright as well. Change of plans…wow, a storm! Now I get to go stroll the beach after and see all the treasures onshore, right? Okay, we’re on day two and there has not been one moment of dry sky or a calm wind. I just know this storm has brought treasures to the beach, but I don’t have the guts to weather the storm conditions and go treasure hunting! One more day…maybe?

As it goes, I guess the vacation Gods are saving all the beautiful days for our guests; and that’s okay too! But guys and gals, if you find my treasure when you’re here, take a photo of it so I can see what I missed!!!

Have fun at the beach!
